When Eddy first started making art he was trying to express the images that he saw in his head. These were images inspired by conversations, music and movies. Images that would flash up on his internal movie screen. But he quickly grew frustrated because his technical ability to achieve anything close to what he was seeing in his mind was entirely lacking.

After this setback he started to copy other artists who inspired him, usually low-brow stuff like comic strips in Mad magazine, animated cartoons by Looney Tunes, or graffiti that he had seen on the train ride to school.

After high school he was discouraged by his teachers in pursuing fine art as a career due to its inherent instability and general lack of income and chose to become a graphic designer while maintaining his interest in fine art as a hobby.
He now feels this was a mistake but nonetheless his training in graphic art has helped and informed his practice in some very helpful and interesting ways. For example learning about colour separation in commercial printing helped with colour theory and traditional printing techniques like screen printing or linocut.

Since moving into fine art and illustration he is now equipped with enough technical skill to at least get close to representing these internal images. Expressing ideas around internal processes such as thoughts, emotions, meditation and philosophy. He uses media such as acrylic art on board or walls, watercolour, ink or pencils on paper, digital painting combined with Risograph or Giclee printing, and traditional printmaking techniques such as linocut.

His goal is for his art to be accessible to all audiences. Not difficult to understand. Straight forward and relatable ideas around psychology and self care.
