Kalena Hynes, a visual artist and ceramicist based in Heidelberg, channels her unique perspective as a neurodiverse individual with Autism into her art. This year, she showcases “Domestic Nomad” in her small unit, where visitors will see her art making setup in the lounge, office and dining areas. Kalena paints abstract acrylics of water holes, lakes, and sacred fonts with a harmonious colour palette.

Her ceramic work draws from prehistoric French cave art, featuring hand-built animals like bison, horses, and mammoths. Kalena’s textile printmaking technique and her creativity, influenced by her background in the therapeutic arts, promotes, harmony, and healing.
