My visual art portfolio is an outpouring of reaction, movement, observation, and flamboyant energy, reflecting my professional career as a Belly Dance Artist, Choreographer, and Entertainer. Two- and three-dimensional creations, including costumes and puppets for live performances, are a joyous exploration of colour, light, and materiality, palpitating themes of hope and connection through symbolic references, and dream-like narratives.
My extensive work with children and the confronting nature of my work with the elderly, has caused an undeniable pre-occupation with the concept of time, and inevitability of change. Many of my compositions start as experiments. From abstract shapes, faces, figures, and stories begin to emerge. The canvas becomes the voice of the subconscious, a visual messenger bringing inner wisdom to light.
