Patricia McCarthy-Henry

Fibre art, Textile art

Rosanna

Patricia is a resident on the land of the Wurundjeri-willam people in Banyule. She is a textile artist, designer/maker and an educator in fashion and textiles. The burden of textile waste has carried over from years working in the fashion industry and underpins all aspects of Patricia’s textile practice. Patricia’s work is created using reclaimed yarns often painstakingly unravelled from old garments or salvaged from damaged deadstock or unwanted materials. These materials, with their history and renewed purpose, are a fundamental part of her creative process. Patricia allows the yarn or fibre to direct the outcome.
